Umrah visa from Tunisia, Morocco or Algeria: the route to take and the 1448 season

In short

Tunisian, Moroccan and Algerian passports are not on the Saudi tourist eVisa list. The usual route is therefore the Umrah visa, obtained through an authorised agent or the Nusuk platform, with a mandatory accommodation and transport package. For the 1448 season, Umrah visas are issued until 9 March 2027. Living in Europe or the Gulf may open the eVisa instead.

Private service, not affiliated with the Saudi authorities.

No online eVisa for these three passports

Citizens of a list of countries can get the Saudi tourist eVisa online within minutes. The official portal lists 68 of them. Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria are not among them, and our eligibility checker shows this for each of the three passports.

This does not bar anyone from Umrah. The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that the visit visa for Umrah is open to Muslims of all nationalities. Only the route changes: the Umrah visa instead of the eVisa.

The route: the Umrah visa, with a package

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs platform says the same: regular Umrah goes through Nusuk and authorised agents. Official visa fees and the package price come on top, and are shown before you pay. Our guide eVisa or Umrah visa compares the two routes in detail.

Once you have the visa, you book an Umrah permit in the Nusuk app before going to the Haram. See booking your Umrah permit in Nusuk.

The rules in your country of departure

Each country also regulates the agencies that sell Umrah. We could not find these texts on the official websites themselves: what follows comes from the local press, quoting the authorities.

  • Tunisia: according to Webdo, the religious affairs ministry opened the 1448 Umrah season on 16 July 2026 and reminds travellers that a contract must be signed before departure. According to Managers, the tourism ministry advised in November 2025 using only category A agencies approved for the season.
  • Algeria: according to Algérie 360, the national office in charge of Umrah (ONPO), part of the religious affairs ministry, publishes the list of agencies authorised for the 1448 season; an agency not on the list cannot organise Umrah. Check the agency's exact name and its wilaya.
  • Morocco: we could not verify an official list published online. Ask the agency for its authorisation and a written contract setting out the services.

If you live in Europe or the Gulf

Many Tunisians, Moroccans and Algerians live outside their home country. Residence may then open the tourist eVisa, which also allows Umrah outside the seasonal closure period, with no package required.

Residents of a Gulf country qualify with a valid residence permit. In Europe, the rule covers permanent residents, which excludes temporary permits: our guide on the French residence permit reviews each card. The guide to the eVisa through residence sets out all three routes.

If you still go for the Umrah visa, the official FAQ says a visa obtained in one country lets you depart from another.

The 1448 season: the dates that matter

Ramadan 2027, a busy period, falls at the end of the season: leave a margin between your entry date and the end of visa issuance. Our 1448 season calendar lists every date.

Vaccines: meningitis for all, polio advised from Algeria

The Saudi Ministry of Health requires everyone coming for Umrah to be vaccinated against meningitis (ACYW): a conjugate vaccine within the last 5 years, or a polysaccharide vaccine within the last 3 years, and at least 10 days before arrival. The certificate must show the vaccine name and date.

In the 1447 (2026) document, Algeria is among the countries whose travellers are advised to have at least one dose of polio vaccine. This is a recommendation, not a requirement. Tunisia and Morocco do not appear on any list of vaccines required by country of departure. These lists change every season, so ask a travel vaccination centre for the current version.

What myumrahvisa does for you

For agencies in the Maghreb that have their own Nusuk account, we enter Umrah visa applications in that account: the agency sends the passports and we review each file. Umrah visa submission by our team, for agencies without an account, opens soon.

For a traveller living in Europe or the Gulf, we enter the eVisa application on their behalf, once they send the document that proves their route. The Umrah visa for individual travellers is coming soon.

Frequently asked questions

Can a Tunisian get the Saudi tourist eVisa?

Not through nationality: Tunisia is not on the official list of eligible countries. A Tunisian can get it another way, for example by living in a Gulf country or holding a US, UK or Schengen visa already used. Otherwise the route is the Umrah visa.

Can I do Umrah without an agency from Morocco or Algeria?

The Umrah visa is obtained through an approved platform such as Nusuk or through an authorised agent, and always with an accommodation and transport package. According to the official FAQ, it is not issued without one. A fully self-organised Umrah therefore needs another route, such as the eVisa through residence.

How long does the Umrah visa last?

The permitted stay is 90 days and cannot be extended, according to the FAQ of the Saudi ministry in charge of Umrah.

Which vaccine do I need for Umrah from the Maghreb?

The meningitis vaccine (ACYW) is required for everyone, at least 10 days before arrival. For Algeria, the Saudi 1447 health document also advises a dose of polio vaccine.

I am Moroccan and live in France: which route applies?

Depending on your residence permit, the eVisa may be possible. Our guide on the French residence permit goes through each case.

How do I check that an agency is authorised?

In Algeria, the national office in charge of Umrah (ONPO) publishes the list of authorised agencies. In Tunisia, the tourism ministry points to category A agencies approved for the season. Always ask for a written contract.
