Preparing your Umrah
Saudi eVisa processing time: tourist eVisa, Umrah visa and when to apply
In short
According to the official Saudi visa platform, a tourist eVisa application is processed in one minute to three working days. That is not a guarantee, so leave a margin. No official processing time is published for the Umrah visa: it depends on the platform or provider, and the visa must be used to enter soon after it is issued.
Private service, not affiliated with the Saudi authorities.
The official tourist eVisa processing time
That is a range, not a commitment. The portal publishes no guaranteed time and does not explain what makes it vary. The visa arrives by email once approved.
A short wait assumes the application is complete first time: a readable passport, a compliant photo, and details that match the passport exactly. A rejected document means correcting it and waiting again.
| Visa | Time | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Tourist eVisa | One minute to three working days | Official platform ksavisa.sa |
| Umrah visa via Nusuk or a provider | No official time published | FAQ of the Saudi ministry in charge of Umrah |
| Umrah visa through an embassy | Embassy visit within 15 days of online approval | FAQ of the Saudi ministry in charge of Umrah |
| After the Umrah visa is issued | Entry within 30 days, otherwise cancelled | Press (Gulf News, October 2025) |
What can slow it down
The authorities publish no list of reasons for delay. Three situations still call for a bigger margin, because they add a check or a step.
- Applying through residence: the residence permit, permanent residence card or used visa is added to the passport. A document that is hard to read or does not match the passport risks a refusal. The documents are listed in our guide eVisa through residence.
- Busy periods, such as the weeks before Ramadan or school holidays: no official source says processing slows down then, but these are the dates when a late application leaves you the fewest fallback options. Do not leave it to the last minute.
- A typing mistake: a misspelt name or swapped date. The visa repeats the details entered, so check them before you pay; fixing them afterwards costs time.
The Umrah visa: timing depends on the provider
According to the FAQ of the Saudi ministry in charge of Umrah, the Umrah visa is obtained on an approved electronic platform such as Nusuk, or through the external agent in the pilgrim's country, always with an accommodation and transport package. No official processing time is published for this visa: it depends on the platform, the provider and the package chosen.
Two steps may be added depending on your country. When the application goes through an embassy, the FAQ allows 15 days between online approval and the embassy visit. For travellers arriving from the United Kingdom, Tunisia, Kuwait, Bangladesh and Malaysia, it describes biometric registration in the official Saudi Visa Bio app: a passport scan, a photo of the face and all ten fingerprints.
The season calendar also sets a limit: for 1448, the last Umrah visa issue date is 9 March 2027 and the last entry 23 March 2027. Details are in our Umrah season 1448 calendar.
When to apply
No official text sets a minimum time before departure. The steps below help you time the application without relying on the low end of the official range.
Confirm the route
eVisa through nationality or residence, or Umrah visa. Our eligibility checker answers for each passport.
Prepare the documents before applying
Passport valid for at least six months, compliant photo, proof of residence if needed. The full list is in Umrah visa requirements.
eVisa: apply before buying non-changeable tickets
The official time runs to three working days. Keep an extra margin to fix a rejected document. A single-entry eVisa is valid for 90 days, so do not apply months ahead.
Umrah visa: aim for the month before entry
Early enough for the provider's steps and any biometrics, late enough to enter within 30 days of issue.
Check the visa you receive
Name, passport number, dates: read everything before you travel.
For the validity and length of stay that follow from the issue date, see our guide Umrah visa validity and stay.
Tracking your application
Start with the account you opened on the portal where you applied. The official site of the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, visa.mofa.gov.sa, also has a section for tracking submitted applications. You search by application number, visa application number or visa document number, and copy an image code.
Be wary of sites promising a visa within a guaranteed time. A private service can prepare and submit an application quickly, but the decision and how long it takes remain with the Saudi authorities.
What myumrahvisa does for you
We submit the tourist eVisa on behalf of individuals and travel agencies. We review every passport and photo before submitting, to limit refusals that mean starting again, then follow the application through to the answer and hand you the visa.
We promise no processing time: it depends on the Saudi authorities, and the time that applies is the one stated by the official platform.

No official processing time is published for the Umrah visa. It depends on the Nusuk platform or the approved provider submitting the application, and on steps specific to your country, such as biometric registration.

The official processing time is an indication, not a commitment. Check the status in your account or on visa.mofa.gov.sa, and wait for the answer before submitting a new application for the same passport.
